Abu Dhabi abounds with places to experience fine dining and the cream of world-class cuisines. All styles and tastes are catered for, from the classical French and Italian to Chinese and Brazilian.
Here are 3 of our favorite high-end restaurants in Abu Dhabi.
Hakkasan
Hakkasan at the Emirates Palace specializes in traditional Chinese cuisine. Wooden cages and back-lit blue glass create a dark, refined atmosphere. Bamboo screens, embroidered seating and fried dim sum set the tone. Peking duck with caviar is a signature dish. For a more intimate experience, take your time in one of the 4 private VIP rooms. Highly recommended.
Finz
Finz specializes in fresh seafood caught in coastal waters. The restaurant is mounted on a pontoon base and set in the grounds of the Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi, with great views of glittering waters and The Promenade on Al Maryah Island. Finz is bright and airy, with a modern style and comfortable white furnishings. Don’t miss the freshly-caught sea bass.
Mezlai Emirati Restaurant
A jewel of the Emirates Palace, Mezlai emanates old Bedouin charm. Mezlai is the first Emirati restaurant in Abu Dhabi and conjures up magical dishes of lamb, fish, rice and even shark. Some flavors are borrowed from Lebanon, but most of the recipes have been handed down by generations of Bedouins, and refined for the modern discerning palate. Ingredients are fresh and locally sourced. A staggering array of desserts is available, including the popular Bethitha, made here from dates, cinnamon, and fresh cream. With its high ceilings, red furnishings and dark wood paneling, Mezlai oozes Arabian opulence. The hospitality is warm and friendly, only to be expected from the Emirati people. An unforgettable experience.
